The direct electrical evaporation system essentially consists of a heating rod bundle which is directly encircled by liquid CO2, and with which the evaporating energy directly streams from the heating element to the CO2.

The indirect electrical evaporation system is provided with a spiral tube which is cast in an aluminium block together with the electrical heating rods. Firstly, the heat necessary for evaporation is produced by the heating rods using electrical energy and then transferred to the aluminium block. In the next stage, the energy thereby fed into the aluminium block is transferred or released into the CO2 flowing in the spiral tube.

In the case of the evaporator unit shown, the evaporating process is directly regulated or controlled by means of a temperature control measuring the temperature in the aluminium block.This system is self-regulating and therefore also ideally suited as a pressure build-up evaporator, either for conventional LP tank plants or for vacuum-insulated cold carburetors.
